Knock-out black at the core, this wine has a deep maroon rim. The nose is youthful yet pensive with a broad array of complexity—iodine, cedar, cherry Life Saver candy and black plum skin. Full in body, flavors of wild game and tar take center stage on the palate. The sinewy tannins are a little saliva stripping, overtaking mouth-watering sensations prompted by the wine’s high acidity. The finish is medium in length with a flavor intensity that maintains from start to finish. Drink 2014–2018.
