Black and magenta, this wine is opaque in color. Its nose is primary and intense, offering notes of tar, creosote, blackberry and black currant. The palate offers more of the same along with savory, gamey notes. Refined on the palate by its lightly grainy tannins and supporting acidity, this medium-bodied wine is a class act that sports a medium finish. Fit for the table, but enjoyable on its own, this wine works well now–2016.
