Midnight black in appearance, this has a fresh and exuberant nose that pops with ripe black currants. The densely fruited palate is turbocharged with high alcohol and firm, lightly gruff tannins. The bright acidity offers welcomed, mouthwatering relief. The chunky structure feels a bit foursquare now and could use some time to settle down. The layered flavors, notable concentration and opulent, oak-flavored finish suggest there is no rush.
