Smelling of black plums, vanilla, Pu-erh tea and peat, this is a hulking giant of a wine. Its full-bodied palate is resolutely firm, with sturdy, broad tannins drying the palate. The acidity is supportive but turns slightly acrid on the finish. There is no lack of ambition here, but the wine is tough and unyielding. Drink 2023–2026.
