Smelling of cracked black peppercorn, camphor, creosote and shriveled black currant, this wine’s nose is undeniably dynamic. Alas, the syrupy palate sensation juxtaposed by oddly racy, high-pitched acidity creates a dissonant, full-bodied palate that shows evident warmth. This awkwardness is accompanied by a clipped finish of pretty red fruits marred by unattractive Band-Aid notes. Drink now–2022.
