Bright yellow with a forward nose, this wine smells of crème caramel, toasted oats and poached green apples. There’s a tang on the palate that nicely corrals the flavors of fresh fruit, sour dough toast, cracked pink peppercorn and crushed chalk. Medium in body, it has noticeable pithiness to counter its rather buff structure. There’s bracing tension here, thanks especially to the chalky texture, from start to finish. Drink now–2021.
