Inky black at the core, this wine’s fragrant nose offers unusual aromas of root beer and cola before unfurling tones of ripe black cherry and blackberry. The polished palate is plump in feel, with a generous fruit flavor that is supported by perky acidity and sinewy tannins. The solid finish offers tones of earth, spice and dried tobacco, showing that the wine has begun to evolve to benefit. This is in a prime drinking window though it has the persistence and noteworthy concentration to hold on for several more years. Drink now–2022.
