Near-opaque color with profound garnet streaking and a moderate garnet rim. Minerality stars on the nose, though faint tones of sous bois, black raspberry, raisins and clove can be detected. The palate is dense but the flavors are not profound. The tannins are raspy and drying and the acidity is only moderate. Requires hearty food. Drink now to 2014.
