Château Lecusse 2006   Red Blend (Gaillac)

abv: 13.5% | Price Tier: $$

Black core with miniscule raspberry rim. Teriyaki beef jerky notes accent a cassis-flavored base. Underlying iron notes and grilled meat resound, too. Seems very Northern Rhône though it’s not with its loads of savory notes reinforced with blackberry and blueberry. Broad tannins keep the full body in check despite the merely moderate acidity. Drink now to 2015 and might hold longer despite its short finish.
