Jet black at the core, this wine is packed with aromas of cocoa powder, caramel and intensely ripe Morello cherries. The palate is medium weight despite the wine’s high alcohol, and lacks in concentration compared to the rich nose. The acidity is well-placed overall, but it feels a bit sharp given the lack of body. Drink now through 2017.
