Jet-black in color, this wine smells of raw blackberry and black currant leaf. The palate brings on hits of beef broth mixed with briar and berry patch. There is a clear muscularity to this wine, with its pronounced though integrated acidity and lightly choppy tannins. Though a bit angular, the overall package still has polish. The medium finish shows some ability to age to benefit, but this drinks so well now it seems a shame to wait. Drink now through 2019.
