This wine’s brooding core is laced with a rusty iron color. The palate is nuanced and savory, with flavors of aged game and cracked pink peppercorns. Full-bodied, lightly viscous and mouthcoating, with vigorous tannins and supporting acidity, the wine is juicy at first impact then rather mouthstripping. Without question, this is a food wine. Delicate enough that it doesn’t need decanting, there are many layers to explore in this wine’s generous tertiary character that should be appreciated and enjoyed soon.
