This bottling’s intensely deep black core is surrounded by a bright magenta rim. Aromatically fresh and open, its scents and tastes include lilac, fresh rosemary, cola, slate, blueberries and Damson plum. The palate is slightly tart with high acidity that is a touch too overt. The moderate, corraled tannins are well contained and help to structure the medium finish. Still slightly awkward, this wine could use a bit more time to find its proper alignment. Drink 2015–2017.
