This wine wears a dark black veil tinged with crimson. Beef stock, simmering veal, fallen leaves and underbrush compose the bouquet. The palate throws in flavors of black currant, berry and plum skin. Slightly tart but appropriately vivacious acidity is the backbone of this wine’s structure. The tannins are sophisticated and rounded but offer additional skeleton. The long finish suggests this wine still has a way to go, and can be enjoyed through 2018, but there is also no reason to wait as it is delicious and approachable now.
