Opaque with a black core and mulberry rim. Youthful aromas of black cherries and plums, bramble, briar and anise leap from the glass. The palate follows with more of the same. The body is full, smooth and supple, with pleasantly tart acidity and rounded tannins. This is a vibrant and densely fruited Barbera with a big pop of youthful fruit and a moderate finish. A crowd-pleaser that’s drinking well now, but should hold well through 2017.
