This smells of roasted red and black plums scented with Christmas spice and old potpourri. The palate tastes rather flat and uncompelling though filled with sweet fruit compote and spice flavors. The tannins are rounded and fluffy while the moderate acidity works hard to wrangle the robust fruit array. This is full-bodied and juicy, but it needs more concentration and structure to give it vibrancy. This tastes like it is maturing quickly even though the color and robustness of fruit makes it seem young.
