A sultry but highly restrained nose starts out this dense, youthful and slightly awkward wine. The palate is weighty in noticeable alcohol, but it’s the dry, stringy tannins that take center stage. The roaring acidity reinforces the drying, tannic effect, especially on the medium-plus finish. Black currant, black plum skin and a touch of savory spice delivery a hearty flavor profile.
