Smelling strongly of menthol, ground black peppercorn and lush cassis, this youthful nose is dramatic. The palate ups the ante, layering in overtly gamy flavors as well as damp soil. The robust, high-alcohol palate displays lightly tart acidity and finely-knit, mildly drying tannins. The finish is fast and warm, but this might work as a wine by the glass in a casual bar.
