This is a forward and exotically scented wine with a gorgeous perfume of ripe apricot peels, golden raisins and crème caramel. The wine is decidedly dry on the attack, even bringing on a pleasant strain of phenolic texture that does smart work in counterbalancing the wine’s evident viscosity. The palate brings on a fascinating combinations of savory and ripe flavors, there’s hay followed by shortbread. Then, the aromas swing into pear nectar, pineapple yogurt and peach fuzz. Full-bodied, long and serious, this wine can be enjoyed on its own or served with any poultry dish featuring cream. It can easily take on a fine cheese, too. Drink now–2020.
