This wine’s deeply colored, brick-infused black core shows raspberry tinges and a touch of murkiness. The subtle nose starts with candied cherry then segues into red licorice. The juicy palate adds briar patch and red plum jam to the mix. This wine feels more medium-plus than full in body, despite its generous alcohol, thanks to the mouthwatering acidity. The ripe tannins make this a good sipping wine, while the lingering finish suggests it has the stuffing to go some distance. Drink through 2018.
