Deeply colored, this wine is brick-tinged from core to rim, where orange inflections surface. The nicely developed nose is overt, smelling of baking spice, singed orange peel, stewed cranberry and strawberry preserves. The palate is elegant and well proportioned between the medium body, fresh acidity and pillowy tannins. In its drinking prime, this wine’s subtle intensity of complex flavors and medium finish suggest it still has time to be enjoyed. Drink now through 2017.
