Echo Indigo 2014
Colombard-Sauvignon Blanc (Vin de Pays des Côtes de Gascogne)
This pale, hay-colored and ever-so-slightly cloudy wine smells of freshly sliced lemon. Its nose is brashly generous and is so youthful that it smells more like fermenting grape must than wine. The palate follows the cue of the nose, making it largely one note. The concentration is modest and the finish is almost immediately cut off. Rapier-like acidity gives the palate lots of life and contributes a pleasant dryness to the finish. Drink up while it’s a baby, by 2016, especially to enjoy its bare hint of pétillance.
