Luminous and sparkling in its straw color, this wine has an inviting nose of preserved lemon, sea breeze and drying straw. The attack is savory, with flavors of salted almond, seaweed and yellow grapefruit. There’s a dynamic, raw pithiness to the palate that shows this wine carries some tannin. Though decidedly dry on the attack and the medium finish, it has enough midpalate juiciness to make it more enticing than demanding. Terrific for shellfish or any savory dish accented by citrus, especially on a warm summer day, best enjoyed through 2017.
