Monte Paschoal 2011 Dedicato Vinho Tinto Seco Fino
Pinot Noir (Brazil)
The color is a moderately deep, slightly hazy crimson. The somewhat restrained nose is grounded in ripe black plums topped with cola and animal fur notes. The fruit is reminiscent of a well-done baked cobbler with slightly tired blackberries and blueberries that have been pushed beyond optimal freshness. The mouthfeel is smooth with virtually no tannins and finishes quickly with sharply refreshing acidity. Probably best served lightly chilled and in a casual setting. Drink now through mid-2014.
