Pertaringa 2018 Lakeside
Shiraz (South Australia)
|
This come-hither bottling is a boldly fruited, deeply colored and full-bodied red with gobs of forest berry coupled with generous oak tones nodding toward ganache and sweet spices. The caressing palate boasts excellent supporting acidity. The silky tannins on the attack turn firm and dusty on the finish, but they are artfully offset by plentiful fruit concentration and viscosity. The black cherry, damp tree bark and licorice fueled medium-plus finish suggest that this wine has staying power, but it’s hard to deny oneself the sheer pleasure of its youthfulness now. Drink now–2021.
