The wine’s beautiful, deep color is rimmed with copper. The nose is impressively fruity and massively ripe. In fact, it veers into the overripe area of fig and prune, but the flavors remain attractive rather than cumbersome. The tannins are fairly round, but they provide some appealing texture when combined with the marked acidity. This is not an easily accessible wine, but it is loaded with flavor and big in body with a medium finish. It’s hard not to find a good place for it at the table with rustic dishes. Drink up.
