Luigi Giordano  2009 Montestefano
Nebbiolo (Barbaresco)
This is a pale, cranberry color, with copper tones throughout the core and extending to the rim. This particular bottle’s bouquet is shutdown, but its palate shows an array of delicate flavors. Barbecue spices, dried roses, plums and slate carry into a nice finish. The tannins are already resolving and the acidity is modest. A traditional-style Barbaresco that can still appeal to the typical American palate, and that is drinking well now through 2017.
