Relat de La Picossa 2016
Garnacha (Terra Alta)
This wine is a ripe black-cherry color at its core. Alas, there’s little fruit aroma. The first scents from the glass are whiffs of musk, toast and caramel. The palate is vigorous and borderline aggressive, with drying—though fine-grained—tannins and sharp acidity. Flavors of sweet red cherries come through and provide a light finish, along with less pleasurable notes of plywood. Food is a must with this wine, given its highly angular mouthfeel. Drink now–2018.
