Bodegas Lambuena 2014 Monte Roa Joven
Tempranillo (Ribera del Duero)
|
This wine is inky black in color, but the nose is vibrant and fairly fresh, showing only the initial signs of development. There’s tar and creosote along with fallen, damp leaves and moist tree bark. Beneath these initial aromas are nuances of blackberry and black currant. There’s a weighty attack on the palate, accompanied by light extraction that is quickly lifted by high, refreshing acidity and lightly bracing tannins. The moderate finish leaves the palate revived if slightly dry, so this is best served with richer foods. Drink from 2015–2017.
