Domaine de Cazaban 2018 Demoiselle Claire
Syrah-Grenache (Pays d’Aude)
When first poured, this is a funky wine with concentrated notes of charcuterie and musk. The full-bodied and round palate follows in the same line, adding crunchy black currant, leather and old cigar notes. While its well-placed tannins and integrated, lifted acidity still work with the remaining fruit, it seems this has already aged to benefit with a dry and persistently feisty texture. It’s one for the table and to drink over the next few years. Drink now–2021.
