Godello (Valdeorras)

This wine has the color of Canary melon flesh. Slightly sulphury and showing struck flint on the nose, this wine does an about face with some residual sugar on the attack. The flavors are spicy and melon-driven, with lots of pithy citrus, especially tangerine and pink grapefruit. There’s very good concentration and a pleasant mouthfeel followed by a textured, medium-length finish. This one is worth writing home about, and should mature well through 2019.
