Aujoux 2011 Belle Grâce
Gamay (Beaujolais-Villages)
|
Deep crimson in color with a raspberry-inflected rim, this wine entices with notes of raspberries, açai, black cherry, exotic spice and graphite on the nose. The acidity is refreshing, the alcohol is medium and the body is fairly full yet neither heavy nor viscous at all. This is a seriously drinkable wine with charming freshness and evident purity. Drinks now through 2014 but don’t wait. The concentration is fairly good yet the finish is fairly quick, suggesting will likely evolve to some–but not much–benefit.
