Restrained overall on the nose, this smells vaguely of red cherries, milk chocolate and vanilla. In contrast, the same notes come through with gusto on the palate, adding some grenadine and sweet spice. Surprisingly tangy acidity nicely cleans up the full-bodied palate that is slick with dense glycerol. The tannins are low-intensity until they surface with a light dryness on the moderate, caramel-driven finish. While well-structured, this is one for those that prefer full-throttle wines. Drink now–2024.
