Deep yellow in color with miniscule bubbles, this wine is lightly yeasty and definitely pensive. It combines the best of Cheerios, steel-cut oatmeal and malt with red plum and ripe field strawberries. Medium bodied and serious, this wine has good intensity and a medium- plus finish. Its acidity is balancing and its bubbles are finessed. Both provide an element of levity. It’s an easy wine to drink with gusto, yet it offers layers upon layers of complexity to the engaged consumer. Drink 2013–2018.
