Syrah-Grenache (Minervois)

This wine’s sultry black core shows crimson highlights at the rim. This wine has engaging aromas of peppermint, black tea, new leather and clove. The fruit comes through on the palate with black plum and black cherry, and on the medium-plus finish, quartz and slate appear. Full bodied, this wine is judiciously structured by moderate tannins, lively acidity, medium-plus alcohol and light viscosity. This is exciting now, but it should only get better in the next 12 months. Drink 2014–2017.
