Domaine Mas Cremat 2015 L'Envie
Syrah (Côtes du Roussillon)
|
This wine shows black flecking from its deep magenta core to its florescent rim. The blackberry, cassis and black plum-skin aromas create a beguiling beginning. The palate shows similarly brooding black fruits alongside pencil lead, musk and peat bricks. Full bodied, with terrific lifting acidity and suavely sculpted tannins, it is a well-crafted wine. The lingering finish is minerally and savory. There’s no evident new oak and no heavy extract, yet it’s a layered and nuanced wine. Drink now–2019.
