Bold and funky on the nose, this definitely has an aromatic rusticity. The concentrated, chunky fruit rushes onto the palate displaying an exuberant black fruit character accompanied by spruce needle, Worcestershire sauce and black peppercorn. The palate is firm with lightly crunchy tannins and good acidic spine. The finish turns up tangy black currant and damp tree bark. Drink now–2025.
