Pensive in appearance with a broad, black core and tiny magenta rim, this wine is generous in aromas. It starts with cinnamon and clove then moves to chocolate and tar followed by macerating black cherries, blueberries and boysenberries. While the nose is incredibly balanced between many elements, the supple palate is highly oak driven, right down to its creamy, oily viscosity. The tannins are seamless and velvety, yet the acidity is perky. Overall, it is impressively well executed, and should be enjoyed now through 2017.
