Near-opaque with a black core and a thin, brick-colored rim. Crème de cassis, blueberry preserves, black plum, vanilla bean, cinnamon and whipped cream swathe the palate. The tannins are sophisticated and moderately smooth, the acidity perky and the finish savory and lingering. Though full bodied, the alcohol is well balanced. The mouthfeel is lightly viscous. The medium finish displays some dried herb notes. Drink now–2016.
