Reillys 2016 Old Bush Vine

Grenache (Clare Valley)

Forward and feisty on the nose, this dark red with pale brick undertones smells of cassis and and pancake syrup. Despite the aromas, it is, however, a thoroughly dry wine with dark and brooding flavors. The palate is pleasantly complex with black tea, menthol and graphite. The finely granular tannins blend seamlessly with the buoyant acidity. The finish is surprisingly short given the impressive flair of flavors, but it has evolved very nicely in bottle. Drink now–2024.
