Dark at the core with red cherry-colored highlights, this wine is beautifully fresh and clean. The nose smells of açai, baked mulberry, lilac and flint. The palate follows with the same, then adds oak-influenced notes of vanilla bean and mocha. There’s just the right amount of plump and perky fruit to support the oak tones. The full-bodied palate offers powdery tannins and buoyant acidity. The integration here is top-notch, even if the fairly short finish seems to indicate this is a simpler wine. Enjoy now through 2018.
