Mid-depth red in color, this wine needs some coaxing out of the glass. Its aromas start with some vaguely red fruits. The palate reinforces those red fruit notes with more forthcoming and almost sumptuous tones of sweet mulberry, perfectly ripe red cherries and strawberry preserves. There are also milk chocolate and baking spice notes galore. The pudgy, chunky midpalate is held up by buoyant acidity and fine but dry tannins. Drink now–2024.
