This wine’s deeply colored core is laced with black and rimmed by magenta. The nose is fresh in overt rose tones, licorice highlights and black grape scents. The palate is almost extravagantly smooth, with a mouth-coating, clinging texture. The perky, if slighlty disjointed, acidity on the moderate finish cleans up some of the wine’s evident sweetness and refreshes the palate. Fairly simple overall, this drinks best in its youth, now through 2016.
