This come-hither wine is focused and bold on the fruit-forward nose. Kirsch and rhubarb preserve crescendo the aromas into an explosive dynamism. However, its finish is only moderate, with the grippy, almost sticky palate embrace clipping it short. There’s a faint and attractive touch of old woodsiness that gives the palate a more complete, complex appeal. It finishes a bit dry, but it’s still a very sippable wine without food. Drink now–2021.
