As black as tar, with a small cherry-red rim, this wine smells very youthful, packed with slightly candied forest-fruit aromas as well as notes of licorice, cherry, pomegranate and baked blueberry. The palate is medium-bodied, with well-integrated and refreshing acidity and slightly gangly, marginally drying tannins. This would works well as a bold by-the-glass ion, with no obvious new oak and pleasant freshness. Drink now through 2018.
