Château Magondeau 2009 Passion de Magondeau
Merlot (Fronsac)
Densely colored with blue-black undertones. Shy nose. The aromas focus on earth and mineral aspects—asphalt, charcoal and fresh mushrooms in particular. Blackberry, black raspberry and fresh rosemary make a reluctant appearance on the palate. The mouthfeel is supple with a pleasant midpalate roundness, moderate acidity and finessed—though short—tannins. No glycerol despite the full body and high ripeness levels. With medium length and fair complexity, this wine should continue to evolve and drink well through 2016.
