Robust on the attack, this wine shows a ripe dark-fruit character along with pleasantly integrated toasty tones. Deeply ripe black currant and blackberry abound and are framed by sweet spice and contrasted by savory minerality. Though backed by an enormous fruit-forward core, the tannins are astutely dry while the acidity is bright and wellintegrated. The tannins just need time to come around. Drink 2022–2028.
