This wine looks like a morello cherry, with a midnight black core and a dark magenta rim. The nose shows savoriness layered over generous fruit ripeness. Then, the palate surprises, offering considerable structure with decidedly firm acidity and lightly framing, beautifully integrated tannins. Plentiful savoriness, lovely mineral freshness and bushels of peak-of-summer berries exude from the glass. Unfortunately, the acidity is just a bit too angular right now. Drink now–2020.
