Chateau La Villatade 2016 Cotes Noires Réserve

Syrah-Grenache (Minervois)

This beetle-shell black wine is dynamic on the nose in tones of meat, pepper and polished old wood. The palate follows in a similar vein, adding flavors of black currant and loganberry to the mix. The density on the palate gives the wine muscle but, it’s the reverberating acidity that contributes the much-needed firm spine. Concentrated tannins gently sculpt the edges of the mouthfeel as the wine fades into a medium finish. Drink now–2022.
