Deep black at the core with a rusty hue peeking through, this wine is mostly tertiary in aroma. The palate echoes this, showing composting leaves, damp cigar wrapper and exotic Indian spices along with vanilla extract, baking spice and lead pencil. Dense and palate-coating, the tannins are also suave, with a quick finish. The flavors are pleasant, but the light concentration will not allow them to improve further. Drink now through 2014.
